How it began

Leith has a long history of people arriving and settling on its shores from all over the world. Different communities representing many religions, cultures and traditions help make Leith one of the most vibrant areas of Edinburgh.  But people rarely get the chance to meet and mix socially.

The idea began with Gurmit Singh and Mridu Thanki, gained support from Fay Young at Leith Open Space, and just kept on growing with tireless hard work of volunteers.

Leith Festival 2009 opened a chance to hold a multicultural food event. That was all the encouragement our small group of enthusiasts needed.  But now we need your help too.
