World Kitchen in Leith

World Kitchen in Leith is based on the simple idea that food is the best way to bring people together.

The idea began with Mridu Thanki and Gurmit Singh in 2009 when they spotted an opportunity to create a multicultural food event during Leith Festival.  Leith Open Space was delighted to join them (our multicultural lunches are the best part of our Open Space events).

Our first event at the Leith Gala in June 2009 was a great success despite torrential rain.  The second event was a sell-out three course evening meal produced in collaboration with Out of the Blue Drill Hall Arts Cafe.
