Winter Party

December 5th, 2006

It’s party time – if your diary is not already full then put on your dancing shoes and head for a real winter warming event at Edinburgh Refugee Centre on Monday 11 December at St George’s West from 6.30 - 9.30pm.

Last year Nick Gardner and Fay Young represented Leith Open Space Group at the annual party in St George’s West and found themselves dancing Scottish reels with a wonderfully welcoming group of people from across the world (and eating delicious international food too!). This year’s party promises to be just as good with a blend of live music from folk singer Aaron Jones, the Brazilian Dias Quartet and African Scottish band, Diwan.

Everyone is welcome, especially families and children. For the rest of the year Edinburgh Refugee Centre provides a remarkable range of workshops, activities and support specially for asylum seekers and refugees. But for this occasion they throw the doors open to anyone who wants to come.

“We like to share our Winter Party with as many people as possible” says Rosie Robertson, Refugee Centre Manager.

St George’s West Church is in Shandwick Place, on the corner with Stafford Street.

See below for more December dates.
